Manufacturer details and GARAN
The EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) requires manufacturer details for goods. Consho records them in one place and shows them on every product.
Creating a manufacturer
Under Consho master data → Manufacturers. Name, street, postcode, city, country and e-mail address are mandatory. Optional: logo, state / region, a contact page that allows direct communication, and the website – which on its own does not meet the duty to provide information.
If the manufacturer is based outside the EU, a responsible person in the EU is needed; it is also created as a manufacturer and selected there.
On the product
In the “Identification” section the manufacturer is mandatory for goods; variants inherit it. For digital content and services it is optional; if one is entered, the product page shows it just the same. Under “Safety and guarantee” you find warnings – they appear right next to the goods – and safety information.
GARAN label
If the manufacturer gives a durability guarantee of more than two years, you enter the years at the main product (whole or half years) and upload the GARAN label, in colour as PNG or JPG. It appears on the product page before the buy button and in the order confirmation; the nested label also on the tiles. The label has to be in a public folder.
Findings and pitfalls
- Goods without a manufacturer, manufacturer without an e-mail address.
- Manufacturer outside the EU without a responsible person: these products may not be offered like this.
- Guarantee without a label (then not shown), label not public, label over 100 KB, guarantee on a variant instead of the main product.
