Landing pages
A landing page is a filter combination with an address, a title and a description of its own – such as “Swedish bitters 250 ml” as /herbs/swedish-bitters-250-ml.html. Search engines find it like a page of its own.
In the back end
Under Consho master data → Landing pages.
| Listing page | the category page it belongs to. Only pages with a visible product list that follows the address can be chosen. |
|---|---|
| Filter combination | for example colour:red;volume:250ml. Consho puts it in order itself; a sort order is not allowed. |
| Alias | lowercase letters, digits and hyphens only. |
| Page title | mandatory. |
| Description | empty: the description of the listing page. |
How it behaves
- If a filter link leads to exactly the released combination, the visitor lands on the address of the landing page.
- If the combination yields no products, the page answers with 404.
- Every language has landing pages of its own: the English one is a separate record under the English category page.
- If the listing page is deleted, its landing pages go with it; they are not copied when the page is copied.
Findings and pitfalls
On saving, Consho refuses, among other things: a combination outside the category's product selection or exactly equal to it, a combination that is already taken, a property that is not filterable, “available only” in the combination, and an address that hides a Contao page. consho:catalog:verify reports orphaned landing pages.
