Services

A service is a kind of its own at the product type: without delivery and with the tax of the shop's country. Whether a service is supplied electronically and so belongs to the kind “Digital content” is your decision.

• Tax: the shop's country instead of the delivery country; reverse charge remains for business customers.
• No shipping: only items of the kind “Goods” need a shipping method and delivery address.
• At the article, “Delivery and validity” shows only the term and the sale mode – no file, no keys.
• A service can also be sold as a subscription, a membership, say.

Like a digital article, the service is unlocked as soon as the payment is in; that counts as its start, and the customer gets the mail “Unlocked: order …”. Until then, the list of deliveries says when the unlocking comes – on a day or after the payment. Once the service has been performed in full, you report that under Deliveries, at the delivery that reported the unlocking, with Service performed. This cannot be taken back and sends no mail; if the customer agreed to an early start, their right of withdrawal for this item ends with it. Afterwards the date stands there, and the items only show the state. Subscriptions have no such report; they keep running.

For services the checkout offers the customer to request a start before the withdrawal period expires. The right of withdrawal only lapses with this consent and “Service performed”; without consent the report is only noted. More under Withdrawal function.

A service with a delivery kind, file or keys (note): the values are hidden and not used; remove them at the product.
