Cancellation

The Cancel contracts here element is the cancellation button Consho provides under § 312k BGB: on a page without login, reachable from every page – through the footer, say. “Cancel” in “My subscriptions” does not replace it.

Setting it up

Put the element on a published page without login and select it at the start point under “Consho” as the “Cancel contracts here” page. “Create the missing shop pages” does that.

The following insert tags are available, for the footer, say: {{consho_cancellation_link}} sets a link “Cancel contracts here” in the page's language, {{consho_cancellation_link::Your own text}} with your own text, {{consho_cancellation_url}} only the address. Without a page selected they stay empty.

What the customer enters

After “Cancel contracts here” they choose the kind – ordinary or extraordinary for good cause, then with a reason –, enter name, subscription number and the subscription's e-mail address and, optionally, when the contract should end; empty means as early as possible. With “Cancel now” the cancellation has been received. The result page stays available for 90 days; after five failed attempts within 15 minutes there is a short lock.

Confirmation and effect

  • The customer immediately gets a confirmation of receipt at the subscription's address, with the cancellation number and the day the contract ends; you get a copy.
  • Ordinary: Consho sets the end date – at the earliest the end of the minimum term if the notice period is kept –, stops billing after it and ends the subscription on that day.
  • Extraordinary: you decide in the back end under Subscriptions → “History” – accept with an end of contract, reject with a reason. The customer gets the decision by mail.

Findings

  • Shop with subscriptions without a reachable cancellation page (warning): select a page without login at the start point.
  • Extraordinary cancellations are waiting for your decision (warning).
  • Decision not sent (warning): “Resend decision”, also from the subscription's history.
