Price rules and strike-through price
There are two ways to run a promotion: a price row with a period on a single product, or a price rule that puts a percentage discount on many products – such as “20 % off one manufacturer until Sunday”.
Price rules in the back end
Under Consho master data → Price rules.
| Title | visible in the back end only. |
|---|---|
| Discount in percent | where several rules match, the cheapest applies – discounts are not added up. |
| Also for goods already reduced | whether the rule also applies to products that already have a promotion. |
| Products, Manufacturers, Product types, Properties | what the rule applies to; every field filled in must match. |
| Customer groups | limits the rule to groups – then without a strike-through price. |
| Active, Valid from / to | the end is no longer included: “to 30.09. 00:00” means the 29th is the last day. |
Price rules apply to one-time sales only, not to subscriptions.
Price row with a period
A price row with a period beats one of equal rank without a period. If it is cheaper, it counts as a promotion; if it is more expensive, it is simply a planned price change.
The strike-through price
For a promotion for everyone, Consho shows the “Sale” badge and, struck through, the lowest price of the last 30 days (§ 9a PrAG, § 11 PAngV). It is counted from the start of the promotion, not from today:
- If a promotion is lowered further step by step, say from € 10 to € 9 and a week later to € 8, the price before the promotion stays the reference price (€ 10), not the previous step.
- If a step becomes more expensive again, a new reduction begins – with 100 → 70 → 80 no strike-through price appears.
- If there are fewer than 30 days of history, what there is counts; if there is none, there is no strike-through price.
The strike-through price appears on the tile and the product page, for the one-time price of a single article – not for “from” prices across variants with different prices, not for subscriptions and not for promotions for customer groups only.
Good to know
- A promotion for everyone competes with group prices: the cheaper one wins.
- Tier and group prices do not count as “reduced”.
- When Consho is first used, the price history starts with the current state – during the first 30 days the comparison period is shorter accordingly.
- Saving, switching or deleting a rule recalculates all products.
