Multiple shops
One installation can carry several shops. Every start point in the site structure points under “Consho” to a shop configuration; the language versions of a shop point to the same one.
What all share
- the catalogue – which product is visible where is set by the “Shops” field at the product
- the members – customers, addresses, VAT IDs
- the stock
Back end rights apply to every shop: whoever may open a Consho module sees and edits its records in every shop of the installation. If staff need separate access per shop, the shops belong in separate installations.
What each shop has to itself
| Shop configuration | currencies, home country, default language, delivery countries, own VAT ID, shipping and payment methods, order statuses, delivery time, withdrawal period, mail sending |
|---|---|
| Number ranges | exactly one per shop and document type |
| Start point | currency, legal texts and the pages for basket, checkout and order |
Point the language versions of a shop to one configuration. A second configuration starts number ranges of its own for invoices.
Shared VAT ID
The delivery threshold applies per company, that is per VAT ID: the dashboard shows it for every shop and names the other shops with the same VAT ID, and the “Tax at destination” switch applies to all shops with the same VAT ID.
Findings
- Several shops share the members (note): all shops need the same controller within the meaning of the GDPR – for other companies, separate installations. Once that is settled, there is nothing to do.
- Two configurations with the same VAT ID: if it is one shop in several languages, it belongs on one configuration.
- The same prefix in several number ranges of one company.
- Start point without a currency or with a currency the shop does not sell (blocks), and start point without a domain (otherwise mails link to localhost).
