Customer account

In Consho, customers are Contao members or guests. There is no customer account system of its own – Consho uses Contao's member management.

Customers in the back end

Consho → Customers shows members with an order and guests, grouped by e-mail address: name, e-mail, member or guest, number of orders, latest order. From here you also create access copies and carry out erasure requests (see GDPR).

New customers land in the Base group of the customers of the shop configuration; members maintain their addresses in Contao's “Personal data” module.

So that they can also change their delivery address and VAT ID there, select these fields in the module. In the field list you find them under the headings “Delivery address” and “VAT”; the delivery address fields carry the suffix “(delivery address)” so that they can be told apart from Contao's fields of the same name. The same applies to the “Registration” module. The checkout prefills the fields and checks the VAT ID on every purchase.

My orders

The My orders element belongs on a protected account page. It lists the member's orders in this shop; a click opens the order page. Guest orders with the same e-mail address appear after “Show orders placed as a guest” and a confirmation by mail. If the address changes, it has to be confirmed again.

A guest can also create their account from the order, on the order page with “Create customer account” (see Guest or customer account).

Findings

There are warnings when the customer page locks customers out, a login page is missing, customers have no way to register (when subscriptions are sold or “Ordering without an account” is off) or a start point lacks its “Lost password” page. They do not block the checkout.
