Age verification

On the product you set an age restriction: 6, 12, 14, 16 or 18 years. 6, 12 and 14 are a notice. From 16 and 18 on, Consho enforces the age – if it is not ensured, the article cannot be ordered.

One way is enough:

• Customer groups with a verified age: in the shop configuration, in the “Customer groups” section, you choose member groups whose age has been verified. You verify the age outside the shop and answer for it – Consho verifies nothing itself.
• A shipping method that checks the age at hand-over: a shipping module brings this ability; it cannot be set. The two shipping methods in the core – Flat rate and Weight brackets – do not check any age.

With the core alone, the way therefore leads through the Customer groups with a verified age. This also applies to digital articles, where there is no hand-over.

The basket says “This basket contains articles for ages … and over.” If the age is not ensured, the customer sees “This basket contains age-restricted articles we may not send this way.” What counts is the highest age restriction in the basket.

Articles from 16 or 18 that nobody can order (warning): there is neither a group with a verified age nor a shipping method that checks it. The finding only blocks these articles, not the shop.
